Ford unveiled their new 2010 Ford FPV F6 E a few months ago, and this luxury model would surely give the critics and fans something to think about. It is designed after the ‘older sibling’ of the GT E (note the alphabet difference) and it is also a newer version of Ford’s F6. Of course, the GT E, being an executive luxurious V8 powered machine which is a top of the line model, the F6 E is an entirely different model. One thing nice about models like these is that there really aren’t that many who competition unless one considers the Chrysler SRT8 300C to be one, but whichever way it might be, Ford surely has created or at lease excelled in this niche market with this new model.
To begin with, the car is pretty large and comes with 19 inch wheels which are big enough in every sense and in all its aggressiveness, this car is pretty quiet from the inside. You will not miss any of its FPV emblems located around and its huge intercooler and the red calipers with the proud ‘Brembo’ words embossed seemed to tell you that this is one car you won’t want to mess around with. Of course, with a this Falcon-based sedan would go very well with those who are not into the stylish designs and such but wants something which is big, fast and cool.
Under the hood, you get the 4.0 liter turbocharged DOHC 24-valve six cylinder engine matched with a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox. The Sequential Sports Shifting system will boost the car up to 310kW of power at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 565Nm between 1,950 and 5,200 rpm with fuel consumption recorded at 12.l liters per 100kilometers. You get from zero to hundred in 5.4 seconds and that, in itself speaks volumes.
Inside the car, you will get some nice and comfortable FPV embroidered seats as well as a leather steering wheel that comes with audio and cruise control buttons. One thing cool about the lumbar support enabled seats is that they can be electronically adjusted in 8 ways. The HMI (Human Machine Interface) is also included with a 7 inch LCD screen with the ICC (Internal Command Center) system which will navigate you audio and rear camera which include a 6 CD in-dash system which comes with MP3 playback and iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.
