Toyota Malaysia launches the New Altis |

UMW Toyota Motor recently launched the new 2008 Toyota Corolla Altis. For this version, Toyota has re-deseigned the body of the Altis to be more aerodynamic and has 5 different variants. For the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6E price starts from RM102,900.00 while the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8E is positioned at RM109,900.00. The Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8E Sporty cost a bit more at RM112,250.00 while the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G is priced at RM117,900.00 and the top of the range model, the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G Sporty starts from RM120,250.00.
Apparently, the new aerodynamics of the Altis is supposedly contributed by its other accesories like the shape of the A-pillars, windshield wipers and the flush mounted windscreen glass. The variants of the engines are the similar to the former 1ZZ-FE and 3ZZ-FE DOHC 16 valve VVT-i engines albeit some minor technical changes. The 1.8 liter 1ZZ-FE gives 132 PS at 6,000rpm and torque teaches its peak of 170Nm at 4,200rpm. The 1.6 liter 3ZZ-FE produces 109 PS at 6,000rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,400rpm and has the same horsepower output with the Toyota’s 1.5 liter 1NZ-FE in the Toyota Vios and are standard 4-speed automatic transmission gears.
The higher versions, the 1.8E Sporty and 1.8G Sporty versions comes standard with a bodykit plus front and rear lips and side skirts and comes in 5 colour choices, Silver Metallic, Medium Silver Metallic, Black Mica, Beige Metallic and Greyish Blue Metallic.
