The Honda Accord Tourer added another award to the Japanese car manufacturer’s accolades when it was given one of the most sought-after award in the world. The 51st International Red Dot Award was given to the European targeted Honda Accord Tourer for its high design quality out of the 3000 over entries from 51 countries.

This would be the third time the award has been given to Honda of which the first time was for the Honda 2000 in year 2001 and in 2006, the Civic took home the award. The initiator of the red dot design awards Professor Dr Peter Zec said that “Faced with the greater number of high-quality products, our international jury of acknowledged experts this year found the task of selecting the winner to be particularly challenging. This distinction explicitly acknowledges your creativity and innovative drive, and pays tribute to the high quality standards of your product.”

With that in mind, upcoming entries would have to up the ante as the design of automobiles will go for greater heights where consolidation is important with more consideration needed for the very much demanded safety features, environment friendliness and car performance and efficiency.
