Described as the ‘distinct American vehicle’, Chrysler launched their ecoVoyager, a four door car meant to seat 4 passengers. Designed and developed ideally for the American market, this model seeks to up the ante for Chrysler in promoting their brand and standings in this automobile category. The concept of the new powertrain where the system uses both electronic motor work and hydrogen fuel cell together provides a no-emissions range of in excess of 300 miles.
To say the least, the ecoVoyager goes an environmental friendly impression and at the same time provides the driver the elegance of simplicity. Its heart of the engine is an electronic motor that generates 200kw from a lithium-ion battery pack, which is typically almost similar to cell phones. 200kw here is translated into 268 horsepowers. This technology usually bring the driver as far as 40 miles. When on hydrogen fuel cell, the car can go to 300 miles from its under-floor electric motor, which subsequently produces water vapor waste.
The ecoVoyager is very spacious, comes with a single-box design infuesed within the very compact front and rear overhangs. Without the B-pillars and the panoramic glass sunroof, the spaciousness of the cabin is very much simplified with sparingly used accessories. The interiors comes standard equipped with an amazing 20 bottle holder at the rear armrest and an LCD screen for the front passenger for movies.
As stated by Greg Howell, “The 2008 Chrysler ecoVoyager concept vehicle celebrates the romance of automobile travel embodied in a four-door, four-passenger, distinctively American automobile of spirited design,” which further enhances Chrysler brand in the American market.
